I Get Excited

This vlog is probably the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever put on the Internet.

But it reminded me of high school when people would come up to me and ask me why I didn’t “act” like my cousins, who were practically the only examples of Black people in that part of rural Texas high school academia. Why didn’t I wear baggy pants, be a ladies man, and be a sports star? Was there really all there was to be? If so, I was definitely the rotten egg of the dozen.

My vlogs for August have been starkly different everyday with only one common thread: me. They’re all silly me, the me I always hope is still there as I get older. Part of VEDA is getting to know each other in a community setting. Sometimes I get slightly off-topic with my caricatures and such, but the core of the project is there: me. People watching are getting to know me. I’m weird.

I like that you post all your vlogs… I never get over to anyone’s youTube channels to watch them. That said, I’m at work, and I still can’t watch them, but I like that you’ve posted them.
